Anais Amin

Brand Manager & Marketing Coordinator

Anais Amin is a professional based in Los Angeles with a strong background in journalism, marketing, and community service. She holds a Master's in Journalism from Columbia University and has gained substantial experience in radio production, brand management, and advocacy. She is committed to storytelling and social justice and utilizes her platform to foster positive societal changes.

Early Life and Education

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Anais pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), earning a Bachelor of Arts in English. During her time at UCLA, she was actively involved in student government and leadership, serving as one of 14 council members responsible for representing over 30,000 undergraduate students.



Her involvement in student government allowed her to advocate for social justice, access to higher education, and mental health services for veterans. She led efforts to raise awareness and education about social justice on campus, managing a team of 40 volunteers to support these initiatives. She also played a key role in organizing a political debate among U.S. House of Representatives candidates.

Following her time at UCLA, Anais advanced her education at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, where she earned a Master of Science in Journalism in 2020, focusing on audio, text, and video journalism.





Her notable academic projects include a detailed 5,000-word master's project that documented the journey of a Syrian refugee family to the U.S., a published story about her family's escape from genocide, and a video project on medication-assisted recovery.

During her studies at Columbia, she reported on civil and criminal courts in the Bronx, producing investigative stories on issues such as sexual abuse in Orthodox schools and the excessive use of force by private security guards.

Professional Career in Radio Production

Anais started her professional journey in radio production, working with leading figures in the industry. She was a production assistant at Marketplace, an award-winning public radio program by American Public Media, from January 2022 to December 2022.



During her tenure at Marketplace, she researched and pitched interview topics, pre-interviewed guests, and edited audio segments. She also wrote scripts, produced digital content, and collaborated with other producers on content development, focusing on same-day interviews and personal audio essays.

Before her full-time role, she interned at Marketplace from June to December 2021, assisting in guest research, show preparation, and digital content production.

Anais also served as a production assistant at KPFK Radio 90.7 FM from 2017 to 2019, where she booked and interviewed various experts, developed weekly show topics, edited interviews, and created one-hour radio segments that adhered to broadcast quality standards.



Career in Marketing and Branding

Beyond journalism, Anais has made significant strides in marketing and brand management. She currently works as a Marketing and Brand Manager for a fashion manufacturer, managing multi-million-dollar accounts and leading marketing campaigns.

Previous Roles

Before her current role, Anais worked as an executive assistant at Pacific Dental Lab, Inc., in Thousand Oaks, California, in 2017. Her responsibilities included overseeing marketing strategies, handling accounting tasks, and ensuring smooth business operations. She also mediated staff conflicts and facilitated communication between management and employees.



Additionally, she interned in PR and marketing for The Borgen Project, focusing on reducing global poverty. She engaged California senators and Congressional representatives, advocating for poverty reduction legislation and creating outreach materials to mobilize political and community support.

Community Engagement and Volunteer Work

Anais is dedicated to community service and volunteering at animal shelters and a horse ranch for children with special needs. She has supported political campaigns, such as Paul Krekorian's in 2009, and contributed to various charitable causes, including the Children of Armenia Fund (COAF), journalist support campaigns, and REBUILD THE BLOCK, which aids Black-owned small businesses.



Personal Life and Hobbies

In addition to her professional endeavors, Anais is a trained oil painter and an avid photographer, skills that allow her to express her artistic vision and capture compelling images. She is passionate about the outdoors, frequenting museums, and immersing herself in different cultures.

Anais is bilingual in Armenian and English and is improving her Spanish skills.
